I can set up my portable white ‘Dutchgrand’ in any of the areas, allowing me to play for a wedding ceremony, drinks reception, wedding breakfast, or even all three parts of the day. This venue always looks great, whatever the weather and you have the great option of the ceremony garden if the weather is on your side. I loved playing outside here many times last year, and Gemma from Bluebells & Daisies is always on hand to enhance your wedding with stunning flowers, alongside the fabulous The Striped Kitchen who provide delicious catering. Jaydi, Leah, Claire and the rest of the Wyresdale team are so welcoming and great at running an amazing wedding!

Wyresdale Weddings Pianist – Mia and Leon.

It was a pleasure to play for the lovely Mia and Leon on Tuesday 25th March 2025, all day at Wyresdale Weddings. Songs included ‘Amazed’ by Lonestar, ‘Tightrope’ from The Greatest Showman and the traditional wedding march exit. I loved the Country music theme at the wedding and the cake was amazing with the little cowboy boots! Both Mia and Leon looked absolutely gorgeous!!

It was wonderful to be back at Wyresdale Park and as one of their recommended suppliers I was thrilled to see the amazing changes and renovations that have been done in such a short time, including the beautiful new entertainment space and the gorgeous arrival area outside.

I was thrilled and honoured yesterday to play for Charlotte and Isaac on the 11th April 2025 in the first outdoor ceremony at Wyresdale Weddings on a glorious, sunny day!!! What a beautiful bride and handsome groom and they are so wonderful together!

I loved the bridal entrance procession which was my arrangement of I Giorni blended with ‘Glow’ by Scouting for Girls, which is a special song for Charlotte and Isaac. And what an amazing place to say their vows in this walled garden with the beautiful countryside all around and the rolling hills in the background!

Wyresdale Weddings Pianist – Eleanor and Andrew

This wedding at Wyresdale Weddings on the 15th of April was fabulous!! Eleanor and Andrew both looked amazing on their wedding day and I really loved Eleanor’s style! The music choices which made this wedding so unique included Neck Deep, Foo Fighters, The Offspring, mixed in with some Disney and the beautiful ‘How Long Will I Love You’ for bridal entrance.

The ceremony was perfect, conducted by the lovely Jean from Lancashire Registration Service and the Wyresdale team were super organised as usual – thanks to Claire, Jaydi and Robyn.

Wow it was wall to wall sun yesterday for Alex and Jamie-Lea who were married outside in the glorious sunshine at Wyresdale Weddings on the 15th of May. All their guests loved it here and spent most of the afternoon outside enjoying the amazing surroundings. There were many happy tears when Jamie-Lea walked down the aisle looking beautiful to ‘A Thousand Years’ – an absolute wedding classic!

I then moved to the gorgeous new outdoor area here at Wyresdale Park to play for drinks reception and during photos.

On Saturday 23rd August, I was so pleased to be back at Wyresdale Weddings playing for the beautiful Joanne and her lovely groom Martyn.

Big congratulations to Natalie and Mike who were married on Sunday 24th August in a stunning ceremony at Wyresdale Park. The weather was very kind and we had the ceremony and drinks reception outside, before enjoying a brilliant wedding breakfast supplied by The Striped Kitchen.

Wyresdale Weddings Pianist- Sammy and Richard

On Tuesday 26th August Sammy and Richard had their wonderful wedding at Wyresdale Park. It all started with a gorgeous ceremony conducted by the lovely Jean from Lancashire Registration service. Sammy walked down the aisle to ‘Glitter in the Air’ by Pink which is so unique and a great choice for a slightly more upbeat bridal entrance! Both Sammy and Richard looked amazing and everyone was thrilled to witness them say their vows.

Huge congratulations to Amy and Matthew who were married on the 30th October at the beautiful Wyresdale Weddings at Wyresdale Park. So much planning had gone into this amazing wedding and everything was perfect for this wonderful couple. Amy looked stunning as she walked in the aisle to my favourite mashup, Canon in D with ‘Can’t help falling in love.’ This one works so perfectly and it’s very adaptable to fit with any size of bridal party. It was a beautiful moment as Amy walked in to ‘Can’t help falling in love.’

I particularly loved that Matthew and Amy chose songs that had featured in both of their parents weddings to be played as they signed the marriage schedule – ‘Always’ by Atlantic Starr and ‘Lady in Red’ by Chris de Burgh

This was a beautiful autumnal wedding for Emily and Adam at the Wild Boar Estate.
Wow it was so cosy and beautiful with all the autumn colours and real fires burning. Songs during the ceremony included ‘Iris’ by the Goo Goo Dolls and the ‘Lord of the rings’ theme. Liz was pleased to play for both the ceremony and the Wedding Breakfast and this lovely Inn was quickly transformed from a ceremony room into a cosy dining area where guests were served a delicious meal and wine.

The food at Beeston Manor is incredible and you can see photographs of the various dishes if you visit the Beeston Manor website. The food is all home-cooked, prepared by the venues in-house chefs who do an amazing job.

If you are considering a Beeston Manor Pianist at your wedding, you can choose from lots of different packages that I offer depending on which part of the day you would like music for.

You can see all the packages under my price list tab and you don’t need to worry about a piano as I bring my own Dutchgrand white baby grand piano to every wedding. This can be moved around the venue with no trouble at all, especially as Beeston Manor has a lift to get you to the upstairs wedding ceremony room. You can even have piano music outside in summer if the weather is dry. This adds a lovely ambience whilst you are having a celebratory drink after the ceremony has finished.

The weather was glorious and we had a sunny drinks reception outside on the terrace and then some great speeches, followed by a delicious wedding breakfast served by the brilliant team at Mitton Hall.
Everything was so perfect for this lovely couple who looked really stunning on their wedding day and it was lovely to hear all about them both during the speeches.
It was so nice to see all the different generations of the family ranging from inspirational Grandparents who have been married for 75 years (yes it’s true) down to the lovely little nephew who is a budding pianist even though he is only 3 years old. And they were all here to support Mr and Mrs Stewart and celebrate with them!

Wyresdale Park Pianist Review from Amy and Matthew

We met Liz at an open day at Wyresdale Park and the moment we heard her play, I became emotional and knew I had to book her to play me down the aisle.

It just elevated the atmosphere having someone play songs that meant something to us and our families instead of just playing music from a speaker.

She was amazing, friendly and nothing was too much for her.

Simone and Daniel were married at the end of May at the beautiful Mytton Fold. I love playing here as it has a wonderful grand piano which can be played during the ceremony and the wedding breakfast in the large function room. A Brilliant Review for Bartle Hall Pianist Liz Hendry

I played at my most regular venue, Bartle Hall, for Atlanta and Anthony in May 2025 on a glorious sunny day. I’m the recommended pianist at Bartle Hall and always delighted to be able to play for their open events and trial meals where I get to meet couples who are planning their wedding, and play for them. It was wonderful to meet Atlanta and Anthony and work with them to plan their important song choices. We were so thrilled that it was a sunny day and I was able to play outside for the drinks reception.

Jamie-Lee and Billy picked the perfect day to get married at the beginning of May at Bartle Hall in the sunshine.
Jamie had recorded a wonderful message which was played for Billy before she walked down the aisle to an arrangement of Wildest Dreams and Here Comes the Bride. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house!

The Riverbarn

The Riverbarn is a beautiful, rustic, exclusive wedding venue close to the River Wyre in Lancashire. I’m proud to be a recommended supplier at this beautiful venue which is a stunning space to hold your wedding, with the added luxury of gorgeous accommodation within both the Manor House and the Oak Tree Cabins.

My white ‘dutchgrand’ is a lovely addition to this room which has a Bose sound system to help make a fabulous sound with the superb acoustics. It’s so nice to have a bespoke live instrumental piano version of your favourite song as you walk down the aisle.

In summer 2023 I was honoured to play for Jason and Joe Whitesmith at The Riverbarn. I have known and worked with Jason for many years as he is the events manager at Knowsley Hall. Jason wanted to choose his favourite suppliers to use at his own wedding and I was pleased and proud to be able to play for him on this special moment in his life.
Jason and Joe wanted a mash up of two songs, one to represent each of them. And so I arranged a special entrance song especially for them, ‘Beauty and the Beast’ for Jason and ‘Smash into you’ by Beyoncé for Joe. I was able to use my musical proficiency to extend each part of the piece on the day, to fit in with the timing of each groom as they walked down the aisle, behind their own entourage of bridesmaids and special guests. I also played during the drinks reception, performing from my repertoire, with a mixture of songs of all styles.

Using a Piano at The Mere Court

When booking a pianist at The Mere Court, there are several areas available for your wedding ceremony and my piano can be set up in any of them. I always work with a ‘Dutch grand’ electric white baby grand piano which is portable and can be moved around the venue as necessary. Moving the piano takes about 10 minutes. Couples often book me for their ceremony and drinks reception, or their ceremony and wedding breakfast, or some book me for the whole of their daytime. I am keen to help take the stress out of choosing ceremony music, by offering a FaceTime consultation to give advice and play examples for my clients.

Music for the drinks reception adds a lovely, classy ambience during photographs and mingling, and music throughout the wedding breakfast adds a beautiful soundtrack to the meal, adding background music without dominating too much.

The Conservatory

The conservatory is a beautiful light room that is often used for larger weddings ceremonies and is used for most wedding breakfasts. I can set up anywhere within this room.

The Arboreum

Another popular ceremony location at the Mere Court is the Arboreum which is a lovely room for up to 80 guests. I have played for many ceremonies using my Dutch Grand in the Arboreum but if you are close to capacity on your numbers I can also use a white piano on a stand which takes up much less room.

The Dunkerley

This recently refurbished room has a lovely contemporary look and can hold up to 100 guests. It is a great setting for exchanging your vows.

Outside in the Gardens

In the summer months, when the weather is fine, a beautiful option is to get married in the gardens at The Mere Court. The grounds are truly amazing for an unforgettable wedding ceremony. I am able to set up and play for your wedding outside as long as it is dry.

I have also played for drinks receptions outside at The Mere Court on dry days. If the weather is changeable and guest are popping in and out of the bar area, I can set up in the bar with the windows and door open, so that the music can be heard all around.

Joy and Ryan were really keen to have modern music in their ceremony and Joy walked down the aisle to Liz’s version of ‘Symphony’ by Clean Bandit, which is a lovely choice and really unique. The exit song was ‘Clocks’ by Coldplay which is a great upbeat tune, full of energy for the Grand Exit. The piano at Sandhole Oakbarn is well looked after and in amazing condition so it’s always a pleasure to play it.

Due to the amazing weather, everyone headed outside for photos during the drinks reception where Liz had set up her portable piano under the clock tower to play and entertain the guests during drinks and canapés from Top Table, who provided the catering for this lovely Cheshire wedding. Liz continued with modern covers of popular songs, everything from Oasis, Louis Capaldi with some film music, dance tunes, and indie and rock thrown in. Andy Griffiths was there taking pictures and family shots in front of the lake, and capturing all the fun in a natural way as it happened on the day.

I had a wonderful time celebrating with Hannah and Tom at Colshaw Hall. I really enjoyed playing the Fleetwood Mac version of ‘Songbird’ for Hannah as she walked down the aisle, as well as some cool tunes for Tom including The Mandalorian Theme and The Super Mario Brothers Theme. I’m happy to learn one or two new songs for each bride and groom. I think it is important for the ceremony music to be a reflection of each couple!

After a couple of postponements of her Mere Court Wedding, I was thrilled to finally play beautiful Laura down the aisle when she married her lovely partner Fez in the Arboreum. As you can see here they were married in front of this lovely window over looking the gardens at the Mere Court, which is just outside Knutsford. Wyresdale Park Weddings

Wyresdale Park weddings are held in a collection of beautiful rustic barns set in rolling countryside on the outskirts of Scorton, Lancashire. There is a lovely ceremony barn with amazing acoustics, perfect for couples who are looking at having live music in their wedding ceremony. My white piano looks fantastic in this room.

As well as in the ceremony room, the piano can be moved around throughout the day. It’s a lovely option to have a pianist throughout the wedding breakfast too which adds an ambience throughout the meal, without dominating too much, and allowing people to still chat. It also adds a talking point as many people naturally play ‘Name that tune.’

Special Arrangements at Wyresdale Park Weddings

I played for the ceremony and wedding breakfast for Georgia and Ethan who wanted really unique music in their ceremony to reflect their relationship. I did special arrangements of ‘Take on the World’ by You and Me at Six and ‘The World Could End with You’ by Llunr. It was lovely to play music that meant so much to them.

I received a lovely card from them in the post.

Traditional music for Wyresdale Park weddings

In March, Lauren and Daniel booked me to play for them all day, and Lauren choose to walk down the aisle to the more traditional option of ‘Canon in D.’ This made for an absolutely beautiful entrance. They then wanted a more alternative mix of music during the meal which included Indie, dance and rock music.

Myself and Tim cannot thank Liz enough for making our wedding day the day it was. It was the most easiest decision to make on hearing her play at the Bartle Hall open day back in April, as soon as we heard her we wanted her! We booked her there and then, had a lovely call with her to go over the song choices and she just got us and what we’re about. We wanted a song from the Lumineers for the brides entrance song. It just added to the brilliance of Ashfield House

Whenever I went to a wedding show at Ashfield House it always seemed that Liz was there playing too. Her piano music filled the entire venue and it just added to the brilliance of the venue – I knew I wanted that ambience at my big day! Liz is also the most warm and approachable person too so I was absolutely thrilled when I finally found out she had our date free and she could play our wedding day!

What effect did she have on your wedding at Ashfield House?

Huge! We’re massive music fans and Liz was just accommodating from start to finish! We had a few requests that Liz learnt for us and played like she’d know them forever! She’s an absolute talent! So many guests have commented on how fabulous Liz was! Not only her playing but just how much of a lovely person she is too! I do however apologise for how early our guests started singing along at the wedding breakfast haha! Liz’s playing is completely infectious and she’s just so lovely – you feel she’s one of your guests (that can obviously play piano fabulously!)

Liz is so professional! The booking element is seamless and Liz’s communication is timely and prompt! Liz is so kind and nothing ever feels like too much trouble or effort! Why did you book Liz for your Mottram Hall Wedding?

We visited Mottram Hall on an open day and as soon as we walked in, we noticed a romantic atmosphere and it was the live piano music that made everything feel magical. Liz was warm, welcoming, friendly and asked us if there was a particular song we wished to listen to. We asked for ‘perfect’ by Ed Sheeran and out of nowhere, she started playing it and it was truly amazing! We asked her to check her diary for us straight away!!!

What effect did she have on your wedding day?

Every single guest commented on how beautiful it was during the wedding reception and wedding breakfast. It was brilliant and really helped the day to feel magical.

How Professional was she?

Absolutely faultless!!!! Amazing from initial meeting until leaving us on the day.

Absolutely! We have already been asked by one of our friends (who is due to marry next year) so we of course gave her your details/website straight away!!!

Having you play at our wedding was just an amazing part of the day and we would not change a single thing about it! When we asked you to play “Only Fools and Horses” as our entrance song, you were so flexible. We can safely say that listening to it being played for the first time, when we walked in the room, just made the moment feel so much more special and we have it captured on video to remember forever. Every single note was played to perfection and it added a little bit of character and personalisation to our day. We can’t thank you enough for everything you did from start to finish. When we initially had to postpone our wedding, due to the pandemic, you fitted in with our new date straight away and allowed us to few relaxed about everything.

Made us cry!

We saw Liz at the Mere Court Hotel’s wedding fayre, and when she played ‘A Thousand Years’ it made us cry!

The ceremony was beautiful, it made things even more emotional when walking down the aisle, couldn’t hold in the tears! All the guests complimented the pianist and how amazing she was afterwards. She was extremely professional and polite.

Lake District Wedding Pianist, Liz Hendry, had a wonderful day playing for Mr and Mrs Tudor at Merewood Hotel in the Lake District. What spectacular views and a beautiful wedding. Kirsty found Liz after a wedding fair when she was looking for a Lake District Wedding Pianist.

We found Liz through her husband who was playing at a wedding fair and I got in touch to see if she was available and willing to travel to the lakes. Thank God she was! Liz is so lovely and was happy to answer any questions we had before the day. We asked for songs from her repertoire but I also wanted my bridesmaids to walk down to the piano version of ‘May it be’ by Enya and it wasn’t a problem. I heard it playing before I walked down the aisle and it was beautiful. I chose to have Jonathan Cain’s version of the Bridal March and I don’t think I’ve had a feeling like it. Just before I walked down the aisle I heard the most beautifully played song and it made the experience absolutely perfect. I couldn’t have hoped for anything better. Liz then played for our drinks reception and wedding breakfast and got the whole place singing along to the Disney songs.

A Winter Wedding

Chloe and Gareth Fairclough were married in a winter wedding on Saturday 16th November at the beautiful and stylish Ashfield House in Standish, Wigan. What a stunning winter wedding with beautiful room dressing. This included white pumpkins, and flowers and foliage designed in all different and complimenting shades of purple by Sarah from The Rose Boutique.

Unique Music Choices

Chloe and Gareth were keen for their ceremony music to be unique, and a reflection of themselves and their diverse tastes in music. Chloe walked down the aisle to my arrangement of ‘Always’ by Blink 182 and for the grand exit they chose ‘Shooting Star’ by Air Traffic. This was an amazing song to play, which I was delighted to learn it, especially for them. Their song choices for signing the register also included ‘God Only Knows’ by The Beach Boys, ‘Waterfall’ by The Stone Roses and ‘Love You Til’ The End’ The Pogues, which featured in the film ‘PS I Love You.’

I was pleased to receive a review from Chloe the next day which said

“Liz played at our wedding (ceremony and drinks reception) on Saturday and was absolutely incredible ? She played a great mix of songs for us and we were so made up hearing them! Jessica and John were married at the beautiful Sandhole Oak Barn in Cheshire with bespoke piano music from Liz Hendry who they highly recommend!

Sandhole Oak Barn is a another fantastic cheshire wedding venue. This is particularly nice because they have a lovely, well maintained grand piano in the ceremony room. However, to give the bride and groom flexibility to hold their wedding drinks reception outside by the water, Liz was happy to set up the Dutchgrand white baby grand piano under the pergola by the water. I had the honour of being part of a beautiful wedding at multi-award winning venue, Bartle Hall, near Preston.

Hayley and Anthony had a lovely ceremony here followed by a full day and evening of celebrations surrounded by their family and close friends. Bartle Hall is such a versatile and stylish venue where the guests can all relax and socialise as the wedding party move around the venue for the different parts of the wedding day. The grounds looked stunning for Hayley and Anthony’s outdoor photographs taken by Kris Clarke Photography and the bar was cosy and festive, a great warm place to rest when the weather outside got a little cold.

Beautiful bride, Hayley walked down the aisle to ‘Kissing You’ from Romeo and Juliet. What a romantic choice! I then arranged ‘The Power Of Love’ by Gabriella Alpin/ Frankie Goes to Hollywood and ‘Real Love’ by Tom Odell/ John Lennon. It’s great to listen to these beautiful modern versions of classic hits and then make my own, instrumental piano version of them to make a special performance for my brides and grooms.

My portable, white, baby grand piano really suited the surroundings in the shooting suite, with the rooms dressed beautifully by Angela and the team from Chicks On Wheels There was a luxurious winter theme and everything sparkled as if dusted by snow!

Scott and Becky thought carefully about their wedding music and wanted music that was special to them on their big day. Becky was an absolutely stunning bride and looked breathtaking as she walked down the aisle to ‘Amazed’ by Lonestar. It is so lovely to play something unique that I have arranged, at the request of each bride and groom. This makes their wedding like no other, and so memorable and special to all family members and guests. Other song choices included ‘I Won’t Give Up’ by Jason Mraz and ‘How Long Will I Love You’ by Ellie Goulding, followed by my arrangement of ‘Greatest Day’ by Take That for the ‘Grand Exit.’

For the wedding breakfast I played ‘When Love Takes Over’ as Mr and Mrs Harland were announced into the room as all their guests applauded.

For the rest of the wedding music I played a lovely selection, everything from Christmas classics, to Disney, to recent chart hits and love songs.

The day was documented for Becky and Scott by Mike Roberts Films and Steve Hale Photography and I’m looking forward to seeing the results which I’m sure will be stunning.

Liz Hendry was joined by her husband and business partner Mark the Piano Guy for this lovely wedding at Peckforton Castle.

Liz performed for the ceremony in the stunning hall. She started playing as the guests sat and the beautiful bride arrived in a horse drawn carriage provided by The Ostler carriages.

Mark The piano Guy mingled with the guests getting this footage for this beautiful video. Then he performed outside for the drinks reception in his inimitable fun piano/vocal style.

Liz and Mark shared duties during the wedding breakfast with Liz performing her more ambient style during starters and main course then Mark getting the crowd singing along during dessert.

Wedding Pianist at Overwater Hall

As a wedding pianist working mostly in the Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside and Manchester area, I was delighted to have the chance to return to Overwater Hall. A beautiful, Lake District wedding venue that is a hidden gem for more intimate weddings. The scenery alone will leave you astounded. It is a gorgeous 18th century hotel, with award winning catering, stunning rooms and an attentive and friendly management team. It was lovely to work with Stephen Bore, and Angela and Adrian Hyde. The Bride

I was contacted online by Polly Barrett who was looking for a modern wedding pianist, able to play a selection of more alternative music, including rock and heavy metal. She particularly loves ‘Everlong’ by the Foo Fighters. My varied musical background and training means that I am able to adapt many musical styles for the piano. I am especially keen to play music from this genre, being a fan of rock music myself.

The Venue – Overwater Hall

I was welcomed to Overwater Hall by Stephen with an offer of help and a lovely cup of tea. My portable, electric, white baby grand piano fitted perfectly in the stylish lounge/welcome area where I was able to play for guest arrival before the ceremony, and throughout the drinks reception. Polly and Chris were married here and then mingled with their guests in the fabulous surroundings with glasses of champagne and lovely cream soda cordial from ‘the re-hydration station.’ They also spent some time in the lovely grounds here with Jono Symonds Photography, working his magic to capture some lovely memories from their day. When chatting to Jono, he mentioned what a delight it was to take photographs at Overwater Hall due to the stunning scenery. The different stylistic elements in each of the rooms also make for really interesting photography. I have added the beautiful photograph that Jono posted on facebook of Polly and Chris.

I would like to congratulate the new Mr and Mrs Walton, thank them for booking me and wish them a long and happy marriage. I am hoping to return to Overwater Hall soon (not just for the lovely sandwiches and cups of tea) but to be able to work in such wonderful surroundings. It was an absolute pleasure, especially with all the staff at the venue being so welcoming, friendly and helpful.

Styal Lodge Wedding Pianist

Styal Lodge is a beautiful, unique, bespoke wedding venue, set in the village of Styal, in Cheshire. It’s a lovely place to get married with gorgeous natural light and wonderful grounds. There is even a lake area where couples can have amazing photographs taken.
I love playing there and Styal Lodge offers fantastic acoustics for a wedding pianist.

I loved playing a mash up of Canon in D with the Avengers theme for bridal entrance and lots of other special songs including Nuvole Bianche, From now on, and lots of film themes. Also they asked for some Foo Fighters and other Rock covers.
