I received a lovely review on Facebook from Mrs Becky Hulme saying

”Liz played at our wedding at the Lancashire Manor in September. I can honestly say this was one of our favourite parts. From the start, Liz gets your personal input on the songs and can also help with suggestions on other songs to play throughout the service.
As she started to play my entry song the hairs stood up on the back of my neck, it was perfect.
All our guests commented how beautiful the music was and how personalised it was as they recognised our favourite songs (some rock songs made into beautiful ballads)
I would highly recommend Liz to anyone who wants the perfect personal touch to their wedding.”

Another lovely review came from Mr and Mrs Gibson

“We couldn’t thank Liz enough. She played through our ceremony and wedding breakfast and she was absolutely perfect. She helped set such a wonderful atmosphere and I lost count of just how many people commented on the music being played. I would (and will be doing) highly recommend Liz to anyone who is looking at getting married in the future. Once again, thankyou Liz for helping our day be even better than we could have hoped for.”
Mr and Mrs Gibson

We loved celebrating with Shevaughn and Andrew who booked both of us (Mark and Liz) to play for them all day. We received this wonderful review from Shevaughn.

“Cannot thank Mark and Liz enough for the amazing job entertaining both us and all of our guests at our wedding this weekend!
Mark – beautiful music for our ceremony and great entertainment throughout the day. A special thank you for making our speeches a little bit different too.
Liz – perfect mood setting during the drinks reception and fantastic ensemble of Disney and musical theatre tunes at our request through our breakfast! We loved watching people recognising each one you played!
Just a massive thank you and highly recommended to anyone considering you for any special occasion!
Thank you, thank you, thank you xxx”

Cheshire Wedding Pianist

Cheshire wedding pianist Liz Hendry was back at Sandhole Oakbarn to play on a beautiful sunny day for Joy and Ryan. The ceremony was in the amazing barn conducted by Cheshire East Registration service, or as they are widely known, Your Ceremony, with a gorgeous view of the Sandhole Lake in the background. https://yourceremony.org.uk/

Cheshire wedding pianist playing modern songs

Joy and Ryan were really keen to have modern music in their ceremony and Joy walked down the aisle to Liz’s version of ‘Symphony’ by Clean Bandit, which is a lovely choice and really unique. The exit song was ‘Clocks’ by Coldplay which is a great upbeat tune, full of energy for the Grand Exit. The piano at Sandhole Oakbarn is well looked after and in amazing condition so it’s always a pleasure to play it.

Outdoor drinks reception – Cheshire Wedding Pianist

Due to the amazing weather, everyone headed outside for photos during the drinks reception where Liz had set up her portable piano under the clock tower to play and entertain the guests during drinks and canapés from Top Table, who provided the catering for this lovely Cheshire wedding. Liz continued with modern covers of popular songs, everything from Oasis, Louis Capaldi with some film music, dance tunes, and indie and rock thrown in. Andy Griffiths was there taking pictures and family shots in front of the lake, and capturing all the fun in a natural way as it happened on the day.

A review from Ryan and Joy

Ryan and Joy were kind enough to write a Google review a few days after the wedding which was really kind of them. It said,

“Liz is absolutely amazing if anyone is looking for a pianist to play at their wedding get in contact with Liz! She played on our wedding day at The Sandhole Oakbarn where she played a great selection of music which started the day off perfectly. Thank you!

Sophie was kind enough to write me a lovely review on my Facebook page about her dream wedding at Mottram Hall.

“Liz played at our wedding September 2022. From the moment we met Liz and listened to her music at Mottram open day back in 2020 we knew she was perfect! We had to post pone our day to covid and Liz was able to move our day to the new date 😊 Liz is so down to earth and gave us lots of recommendations on songs and listened to our thoughts on what we liked. I had a call with her a couple of weeks before the big day and Liz played our walk down the aisle song and entrance song to make sure it was perfect. On our day she played absolutely beautifully. All of our guests commented on how lovely it was to listen to through the wedding breakfast.
Highly highly recommend!!! Liz you are amazing!!”

Colshaw Hall Pianist – 3 AMAZING recent weddings

It’s a pleasure to be a visiting Colshaw Hall Pianist. Here are 3 recent weddings there. It is a delight to work at such a stunning venue where there is a grand piano in the ceremony hall, and I can use my portable white baby grand to play in the main building for the drinks reception or wedding breakfast. https://www.colshawhall.com/

Colshaw Hall pianist- 3 recent weddings- Wedding 1

I had a wonderful time celebrating with Hannah and Tom at Colshaw Hall. I really enjoyed playing the Fleetwood Mac version of ‘Songbird’ for Hannah as she walked down the aisle, as well as some cool tunes for Tom including The Mandalorian Theme and The Super Mario Brothers Theme. I’m happy to learn one or two new songs for each bride and groom. I think it is important for the ceremony music to be a reflection of each couple!

It was great to see Harvey Films https://harveyfilms.com/ (thanks for the unexpected roadie help!!) and wonderful to work with Ian the toastmaster and Tracy from Colshaw Hall who are both really friendly, helpful and great fun.

Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Johnson!

Katherine and Andrew had the most amazing day at the very beautiful and luxurious Colshaw Hall in Cheshire. I loved playing the piano for their ceremony and drinks reception and what lovely guests they had who were enjoying the beautiful surroundings whilst celebrating with Mr and Mrs Scully. Katherine chose a gorgeous entrance piece which was the John Mayer version of ‘XO,’ which I loved arranging for her, especially the beautiful introduction. I was also pleased to play another of my favourite songs for the grand exit, ‘Clocks’ by Coldplay. It was beautiful in March at Colshaw Hall for the wedding of Shereen and Tom. I loved playing for their drinks reception and wedding breakfast. What a delight to be at this amazing venue and I was even lucky enough to have some delicious food provided by Barretts Event Caterers Ltd. https://www.barrettseventcaterers.com/

Shereen and Tom chose ‘Chase the sun’ by Planet Funk as a really cool entrance piece as they were announced into the room as The New Mr and Mrs Batchelor!

The Villa at Wrea Green

The Villa at Wrea Green is a country house hotel in the beautiful Lancashire countryside. There is a beautiful hall for ceremonies, a piano lounge for drinks reception and a fantastic purpose built pavilion for wedding breakfasts and evening receptions. You can often find myself or my husband Mark the Piano Guy https://www.thepianoguy.co.uk/ playing at their open events and wedding fairs as recommended suppliers.

Here is the ceremony hall at The Villa at Wrea Green

In April Mr and Mrs Webster had an amazing wedding at the The Villa Wrea Green. I played for an emotional ceremony and there was a very fun crowd supporting this lovely couple. (Plus some unusual, gorgeous, furry guests. Alpacas!) After playing for the ceremony in the hall, I played during the drinks reception in the piano lounge.

Mere Court Wedding

After a couple of postponements of her Mere Court Wedding, I was thrilled to finally play beautiful Laura down the aisle when she married her lovely partner Fez in the Arboreum. As you can see here they were married in front of this lovely window over looking the gardens at the Mere Court, which is just outside Knutsford. Find out more about Mere Court weddings here https://www.merecourt.co.uk/weddings/

They had chosen one of my favourite songs ‘A Million Dreams!’ which I played for Laura to walk down the aisle.

Friends and family had travelled from all over the UK to celebrate with them and they enjoyed amazing food, drinks and lots of fun here at this wonderful Mere Court wedding. I played throughout the meal for them and then I particularly enjoyed the speeches which were really entertaining.

Wyresdale Park Weddings

Wyresdale Park weddings are held in a collection of beautiful rustic barns set in rolling countryside on the outskirts of Scorton, Lancashire. There is a lovely ceremony barn with amazing acoustics, perfect for couples who are looking at having live music in their wedding ceremony. My white piano looks fantastic in this room.

Wyresdale Park Weddings with piano music

As well as in the ceremony room, the piano can be moved around throughout the day. It’s a lovely option to have a pianist throughout the wedding breakfast too which adds an ambience throughout the meal, without dominating too much, and allowing people to still chat. It also adds a talking point as many people naturally play ‘Name that tune.’
Here is the piano set up for a wedding breakfast. The beautiful flowers are provided by Bluebells and Daisies, who are based at Wyresdale Park Weddings.

Maria and Chris booked me to play throughout their wedding breakfast and had an amazing first meal together as husband and wife, with fantastic food from The Striped Kitchen, who provide the catering here. https://www.thestripedkitchen.co.uk/

They made their entrance into the room as Mr and Mrs Hughes to ‘The You and Me Song’ by The Wannadies. I then played a selection from my repertoire including songs the couple liked including Sky full of Stars by Coldplay and The Friends Theme.

Special Arrangements at Wyresdale Park Weddings

I played for the ceremony and wedding breakfast for Georgia and Ethan who wanted really unique music in their ceremony to reflect their relationship. I did special arrangements of ‘Take on the World’ by You and Me at Six and ‘The World Could End with You’ by Llunr. It was lovely to play music that meant so much to them.

I received a lovely card from them in the post.

Traditional music for Wyresdale Park weddings

In March, Lauren and Daniel booked me to play for them all day, and Lauren choose to walk down the aisle to the more traditional option of ‘Canon in D.’ This made for an absolutely beautiful entrance. They then wanted a more alternative mix of music during the meal which included Indie, dance and rock music.

Simply The Best – Bartle Hall Pianist

Bartle Hall was the setting for this beautiful winter wedding and Claire and Tim were an amazing and lovely couple to work for with great taste in music. Featured songs were ‘True’ by Spandau Ballet and ‘Hey Ho’ by the Lumineers. Their guests really knew how to celebrate and were all having a great time.

Simply The Best – Bartle Hall Pianist

Myself and Tim cannot thank Liz enough for making our wedding day the day it was. It was the most easiest decision to make on hearing her play at the Bartle Hall open day back in April, as soon as we heard her we wanted her! We booked her there and then, had a lovely call with her to go over the song choices and she just got us and what we’re about. We wanted a song from the Lumineers for the brides entrance song. It wasn’t listed on her repertoire but Liz did it for us, absolutely loved it!!!

Such a talented Pianist and can literally play anything. She gave us goose pimples throughout the ceremony and all through dinner, everyone in the room loved her and commented. Thank you Liz for such a wonderful vibe at our wedding, you were definitely meant to be and so glad we saw you when we did. You’re amazing! Thank you! Claire and Tim xxx

A Wonderful Wrightington Wedding

What a scorcher!!! A heavenly wedding day experience for Tracey and Wayne at their Wrightington Wedding at Wrightington Hotel & Health Club in July 2021.
https://www.wrightingtonhotel.co.uk/

Stunning bride Tracey at her Wrightington Wedding

This lovely couple had chosen a really interesting and fun mix of music from romance, to football, to military tunes. The highlight of the wedding was when Tracey walked in to ‘How long will I love you’ and I could hear the gasps as she looked ABSOLUTELY STUNNING in this amazing, stylish dress which I totally love!

This song by Ellie Goulding is a fantastic choice for a romantic wedding ceremony. Find out more about my top suggestions for wedding ceremonies by heading over to my wedding song list.

You have been patient, helpful and a pleasure to work with through very tough times having to reorganise our wedding 3 times. You play beautifully and had me in tears playing ‘how long will I love you’ for my walk down the aisle. We will definitely be recommending you to everyone. Thanks again xx’
