Anthony and Gill Rudd chose me to provide their vow renewal music with my White Baby Grand Piano at one of my favourite wedding venues- Ashfield House in Standish. The couple, who normally reside in Australia, decided to celebrate their many years together by having a wonderful ceremony to renew their wedding vows, and then a gorgeous celebration at award winning wedding venue, Ashfield House.
Vow renewal music choices
The day began with Gill walking down the aisle, looking absolutely stunning, to ‘Pachelbel’s Canon in D.’ The ceremony included beautiful readings from their lovely daughters. At the end of the vow renewal ceremony was a surprise for Tony. An old friend from his military background, Anthony ‘Bruce’ Draper played ‘Highland Cathedral’ on the bagpipes as the couple walked out of the ceremony hand in hand. This was a very emotional moment with this haunting melody adding to the amazing atmosphere.
The day then continued with drinks in the bar and photographs outside taken by one of our industry friends, Christopher Lewis Photography . Gill and Tony also had a video made by Lauren Simpkin Films which would be a lovely momento of the day.
The guests then relaxed in the restaurant with a delicious three course dinner provided by the catering team at Ashfield House whilst I played piano music throughout. Gill had requested a few songs which I added to my selection for the day including ‘How Will I Live Without You’ by Leanne Rimes, ‘Heaven’ by Bryan Adams, ‘Don’t Wanna Miss A Thing’ by Aerosmith, ‘It Must Be Love’ by Madness and ‘A Thousand Years’ by Christina Perri.
It it was an honour to be a part of this very special day which was all about the importance of family and a fantastic couple, still very much in love after their many years of marriage! It was fantastic to speak to Tony at the end of the day who thought that their choice of vow renewal music, especially music played live on the piano had made such a difference to making their day really special.
